Kiln shed floor.
When I first built the Temple climbing kiln on the summer of 2007 it was a kiln surrounded by dirt that would periodically turn to mud. Our early firings felt like a scene for Monty Pythons Holy Grail… a bunch of filthy peasants toiling in the muck.
Over the past ten years I’ve been transforming the space with bricks and stones. Hardscaping the area around the kiln. Eliminating the dirt.
This weekend I eliminated the last bastion of dirt around the kiln shed. The ramp area on the loading side of the upper chambers was the last holdout and now it’s done.
Thanks to @micahmakespots for lending a hand.
We continue to cross things off the list out here in preparation for @woodfirenc this June.
