Current view of our backyard. The massive drainage project continues!
@carolinaflowers_ and me bought our house 2 years ago. It’s the nicest house I’ve ever lived in and I love it as much as you should love a thing.
We knew it had something me drainage problems when we bought it… like a lot of properties in WNC!
This is a massive step towards creating a long term solution to our drainage issue. Soon enough this whole area will be a wonderful patio.

We got the band back together!!
I got to spend the day “playin kiln” with Matt West and @hunterstamps for the alumni reunion firing at UNCA.
Matt and Hunter built this kiln in 2000 and I was invited to the first firing that same year. It was the first woodfiring of my career. I signed up for a 4 hour shift and ended up staying for over 30 hours in a row. It was so amazing I couldn’t bare to leave and miss anything.
I grew up on this kiln. I grew together in friendship with these 2 guys and many more amazing folks around this kiln. It’s a very important part of my life.
As best as we can tell, this kiln has been fired 46 times over its 18 years of existence. This very well may be it’s last ride before it is retired to the big scrap pile in the sky.
I’m just glad to have been a part of it and to have made friends with such good people as these two guys as a result.

I generally try to get professional images after every firing to document the best new work.
Sometimes I don’t have time and need to take the work to a show before I can get it photographed.
The next best thing is having my collectors send me images of their new pieces in their homes.
I’m glad to know where this one is, because it was one of my favorites from the last firing and now I can go visit it.
Thanks Wes for the image and for your support and interest in my work.

We had a big day yesterday at Silvie Granatelli’s studio for @16.hands tour.
Thanks to all the folks who came out. It’s great to have people like Deb (pictured here with her new piece) who have been supporters for years and to meet new people who are just learning about my work.
We are open from noon to 5pm today. Come on out.
In addition to my work and Silvie’s, my favorite jeweler, Agnes Seebass is here showing her wonderful work.
