A special moment in the squash patch with Neil Woody. When @wheresandrew of @natgeocreative asked me what made the wild clay I work with do special, I told him it was the experiences associated with it that are more valuable than its physical properties. 12 years ago I started digging clay out of Neil Woody’s bottomland in Leicester, NC… Even though the clay wasn’t much good for growing crops, our friendship grew out of the clay and all these years later that remains the best thing about it. I was glad to be able to share this thing I love with my new friend Andrew and with the rest of the world thanks to the amazing connections of Nation Geographic Organization. #neilinthesquashpatch #farmtotableware #idigclay #natgeo #nationalgeographic #apotterslife #wildclay #ceramics
