Wild clay in Laos. The clay for making at Ban Chan comes from a pit less than 50 yards from the main workshop. They use this basic hammer mill to grind it into a powder, that then gets water added to it in another pit, before going to the workshop for use. It’s about as direct of a process as you can have. #wildclay #localclay #wildclaysoftheworld #folkpotteriesoftheworld #banchanpotteryvillage #potteryvillage #ceramics #joshcopusinlaos #adventure #apotterslife

Another picture of me excited about a huge mountain of clay. I’m sorry… I couldn’t resist… I’m really not meaning to fill the Internet up with pictures of myself… it’s just that I really am that excited about what I am doing right now and I just want to share it with the world. #apictureofexcitement #wildclay #wildclaygeekout #wildclayresearch #localmaterials #localclay #apotterslife #ceramics

Going to huge piles of clay never gets old, especially when your wild clay geek out partner is Michael Hunt of @bandanapottery . I should have quite a stockpile of exciting new clays to play with by the time @ridgelinepottery shows up for a visit in August. #wildclay #wildclayresearch #localclay #localmaterials #terreism #wildclaygeekout #apotterslife #ceramics
