Photo day with @blueridgeparkwayvistas Tim has been my go to studio photographer for years. It’s important for me to get my work documented before a big show, so I have a record of it… And it also helps my confidence level about the work to see it isolated and well lit. When I unload the kiln it’s extremely overwhelming and I don’t really like anything at first. The initial days are spend cleaning everything and sorting and trying to figure out what is good and just getting used to it all being hard, fired clay. The photo shoot is always a turning point for me. Being able to actually see the work in this environment goes a long way towards me getting excited about it. And it’s always good to spend an hour with my buddy Tim and drink all his cold sodas. #photoshootday #apotterslife #woodfiredceramics #pottersmarketinvitational

An always unbelievable amount of pottery came out of the kiln 4 days ago. I’m still getting used to it all. I think some of it is pretty good. Last day of cold working before my photo shoot and truck loading tomorrow. One more big push before the @pottersmarketinvitational #potteryinitsnaturalhabitat #potsatrest #coldworkingday #woodfiredceramics #woodfiredkiln #apotterslife

We unloaded the kiln today. It seems like it was a good firing, but it’s always a lot to take in on the first day. The next few days I’ll be sorting and cold working everything, figuring out what worked and what didn’t. What’s good and what’s not. More to come… #unloadingday #apotterslife #woodfiredceramics #woodfiredkiln
